How many fuel filters do I need for my hot rod?

Grasor says: Not necessarily just one. Most people will use two, others three, most don't go to four or more.

Many gas tanks have filters inside of them to keep rust out of the fuel lines. The fuel screen does not need to be replaced very often, but you'll want to check it every time you drop the tank.

Another good place to put a filter is just before the fuel pump, to keep it clean.

Finally, put one before the carburetor as small particles can clog the jets.

Whatever you do, at a minimum have one filter in line.
