With your 2000 dodge neon about a month ago the AC stopped blowing cold and blew warm - Now it's barely warm even when the heat is cranked all the way up - is it the thermostat?

I believe these two problems are unrelated. The AC problem may be because of low charge in the system. On the heater check to make sure the radiator is full; look in the radiator when its cold to make sure its full, if not fill it and try it. If that is not it, the thermostat could be bad if the engine temp never gets to operating temperature. If the engine temp gauge gets up to operating temp then place your hand on both heater hoses near firewall; If one is hot and the other much cooler than the heater core is probably plugged. I had this same problem. It is the thermostat it is stuck closed. The mechanic showed me that the quick way to check was to turn on the ac and it would be warm. Also happened in my brothers doge minivan 6 months later same thing. It was a fairly cheap fix.
