Where did reflexology originate?

Reflexology originated same time when acupuncture was enjoying its peak of prosperity in China. As a matter of fact, reflexology is a plant that has sprung up from the breeding ground of Taoism and Buddhism. It is foreign to the West until an American specialist Dr. William Fitzgerald, introduced this 3000 year old of practice to the West. He put this wonderful philosophy to the test and discovered something that by applying pressure on one part of the body would be numbed or anaesthetized. However, it was masseur Eunice Ingham refined the "zone therapy" to what as known today as Reflexology (also known as Ingham technique).
