Is number one one rotor cap to the front or backe of the engine 302 ford f 150?

On a Ford 302 V8 :

Every drawing I have seen in repair manuals shows

( the # 1 position on the distributor cap facing towards the REAR and

towards the # 7 engine cylinder / one o'clock position )
