Why does Bella dye her hair blond in the New Moon movie?

Affter Edward leaves her - she faints, because she loves him sooo much.

She doesn't actually faint. In the book, she says that she feels like she might faint, which she would be grateful for to take away her pain from Edward leaving, but she says that she doesn't lose consciousness. She only slips into an unthinking stupor.
