Most makeup sits in a layer on top of your skin, blocking off your skin's pores, which emit natural oils. This blockage can cause oil to build up underneath the makeup, especially if not properly washed at the end of the day. This causes breakouts, blackheads and oiliness.
This can be avoided no matter how much makeup you use regularly. I am a makeup artists and I sometimes use primer, full-coverage foundation, concealer, bronzer (I could go on and on) and the works, though my skin still does not break out, though I have naturally medium-oily skin.
This is because I remove my makeup completely at night with a natural makeup remover. I wash my face every morning in the shower with an anti-acne scrub and use astringent and moisturizer on the occasions I find it necessary.
Basically, no matter how much or how little makeup you wear, the important part is properly washing and taking care of your skin.
I hope this has helped you!
