Is a cylinder a polyhedron and if not Why not?

The simple answer is no, because it has a curved surface. A polyhedron is made up of polygons. The curved portion of a cylinder is not a polygon. The circular faces are not polygons either, as they do not have at least 3 sides. This information provided by my 11 yr old Son. He's pretty smart.
