The reversal of normal word order?

Keeping in mind that in human language there are always exceptions to the rule, English uses subject-verb-object Word order for declarative statements: Joe eats Apples.

For interrogatives (questions), it is often reversed and we have to use auxiliary verbs like "does": What does Joe eat? Does Joe eat?
