What kind of company is General Books or Books LLC?

General Books LLC are a print on demand publisher that use Optical Character Recognition to reproduce text only of books where the copyright has expired. Here is their standard disclaimer they offer wholesalers to pass on to the booksellers that can offer these for sale:

"It has no illustrations and there may be typos or missing text, this is not a set. The book may have numerous typos or missing text. It is not illustrated or indexed."

The books are quite often so poor that they are impossible to read, and are no good for reference purposes that people would want these old texts for.

Books LLC are probably the same people, they use the same printer and they print Wikipedia articles. This, naturally, is of no use to anybody.
