Why does a dalmatian dog have spots?

Well it is hard to say. Some dogs have spots from their ancestors. See their ancestors use their spots for camouflage to hunt for food or hide from other animals. This day dogs have spots as a birth mark in away. Some spots are good looking and others should not have them. The dogs this day use their spots the same as their ancestors did back then.
