Before becoming governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2002 to 2008. In this role, he was responsible for prosecuting federal crimes and was known for his focus on public corruption and organized crime. Prior to that position, Christie worked as a lawyer in private practice and held various roles in politics, including serving as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly.
