How safe is surgery to correct a squint?

Ive heard that the earlier its done the better as your still growing. My brothers and sister have all got a eye squint. My brothers had theres operated on when they were young. My sister is the only one not to go through with it, due to her getting older and understanding whats going off. Your doctor should go through with you all the risks etc anyway. Hope this helped.
