If your cat is needing antibiotics the vet will give you liquid Cephalexin. The usual dose is about 10mg/lbs. So just multiply they weight of the cat times 10. Break up the Cephalexin and take the dose you're giving and mix it in something they'll ingest. This info is helpful but incomplete unless one assumes the author is talking about the calculated dosage administered once a day. I'm no vet but talked to several people who recently had to treat their dog for an infection. Per this Vet's instructs - the 50 pound dog was to take the equivalent of 330mg every 8 hours or so. (2 - 500mg capsules approximately divided into 3 consumptions over the course of a day). This is way too much work for me so, by some crude extrapolation of all this info, I'm currently treating my 12 pound cat, who has a bad cold, with about 125mg twice a day. It's what I'd do myself. One additional thing: I Think a little extra attention & love can be a great catalyst for any treatment.
