Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower (born October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas; died March 28, 1969 in Washington DC) served as the thirty-fourth President of the United States, between January 20, 1953 and January 20, 1961. He was preceded in the post by Harry S. Truman, and succeeded by John F. Kennedy.
