Are pre 1964 Kennedy Half worth more than face value?

1964 was the first year that Kennedy halves were minted, so there aren't any pre-1964 JFK halves.

Halves dated 1948-1963 are Franklin halves, and 1916-1947 are Walking Liberty halves. All of these are made of 90% silver so they're worth at least $7 for their silver content alone, possibly much more as collectibles. Please post a new question with the coin's date.
