Who sang Hold on you from crazy heart before Jeff bridges?

The song "Hold On You" from the film "Crazy Heart" was originally sung by the character Bad Blake, portrayed by Jeff Bridges. However, prior to Bridges' rendition in the movie, the song was written by T Bone Burnett and Ryan Bingham, who also performed it. The film features Bingham's music prominently, but there is no separate recording of "Hold On You" by another artist before Bridges' version in the film.
