Your cell phone sends a signal to a tower within your area, then instead of connecting you to another's cell, you are transmitted the internet. The Wireless Access Protocol condenses data, so that the cell phone's infrastructure can hold the data. WAP specifies Wireless Application Environment, and Wireless Protocols.
