What do black beauty stick insects eat?

Peruphasma Schultei (Black Beauty) are not poisonous at all. They can spray a liquid when startled which smells quite foul but it relatively harmless. The worst effect is causes is possible irritation of the nose or eyes. I keep and breed Peruphasma Schultei and the only effect I have gotten from the defensive spray is a tickly or tingly nose! I have also found these stick insects will not spray often at all once used to human handling.

Apart from the defensive spray, Peruphasma Schultei are completely harmless.
