Where is the Pollen Filter on a Volkswagen Passat 1.6L?

Did you mean a B5 Passat? The filter is on the lefthand side of the engine bay. It is directly in front of the windshield, beneath the scuttle. The filter is hidden by a black plastic cover with a single screw (posidrive head) with a big washer. Under the cover you will find a pleated paper element. Measure the element before visiting your parts vendor as there are (at least) two different size filters of this type. Hope that this helps...by lefthand side I mean when sitting in the vehicle.
