Do gavials or gharials sleep in water?

Gharials, which are a type of crocodilian, often rest and sleep in the water. They can be seen floating with their long snouts above the surface, allowing them to breathe while resting. Although they prefer shallow river areas for basking, they are capable of sleeping in water as a means of staying safe from predators.
