Hallucinogenic is the Word used to express the Word Hallucinogen. A Hallucinogen is any substance that causes profound distortion on a persons perception of reality. Basically any drug that causes hallucinations. So when you say "LSD is a Hallucinogenic drug" it's the same as saying that LSD is classified as a Hallucinogen. Many types of substances are classified as hallucinogens, solely because of their capacity to produce such hallucinations. These substances are sometimes called "pyschedelic," or "mind-expanding" drugs. SO: Hallucinogenic is a Word that could be used to describe a chemical that induces hallucinations. Instead of having a classification, it itself is a classification.
