Mammals feed their young with their own milk. Birds feed their young by throwing up food that it has already eaten, so the young birds can easily swallow it.

Woodpeckers do this, so they are not mammals . . . but they are a bird, and birds are directly related to the dinosaurs known as 'Theropods'.
