What is the difference between gastric bypass and bariatric surgery?

The Lap-Band is a cuff that goes around the stomach, restricting its size, while the gastric bypass divides the stomach in two, rerouting the digestive system around most of the stomach. Gastric bypass is a much more radical procedure.
