A parenthetical citation appears in the body of the text itself. You use it when you have quoted or used material from a source. At the end of the sentence, just before the period, you put (author, page). If you have mentioned the author's name in the sentence or used multiple sources by an author, you can use (Title, page).

A works cited page is where you document, in alphabetical order starting with the author's last name, all of the sources you used in your paper. This is also called a bibliography.
