A map, any map is a drawing of an area as seen from above. It is important that it has a scale, which is measureable & constant. It has to be oriented, that it it is known which way is up, so to speak. Therefore Scale & Direction are important features. Different types of map are able to show different things: Rainfall, temprature, air,pressure, all sort of variables.
