In Panama, Easter celebrations begins Thursday at noon when most offices are closed to business, and from that moment until Sunday, people donâ??t buy, nor drink alcohol. Then, in Sunday, they prepare a drink called â??chimemeâ?? which is prepared by mixing milk, corn and rice, and is seasoned with cinnamon, and then they proceed to share it with their families. People also organize big parties called â??Matanzasâ?? where they take a pig or a cow and then proceed to sacrifice it, cook it and eat it with all of their guests, accompanied by a good drink.
