To set the clock on a 1986 VW Cabriolet, first turn the ignition to the "on" position without starting the engine. Locate the clock adjustment knob, usually found on the dashboard near the clock display. Pull the knob out to adjust the time; turning it clockwise will advance the time, while turning it counterclockwise will set it back.
