Is a gem the same as a diamond?

Gem is a Word that describes something valuable, beautiful and cherished. The Word can be used to describe an art piece, a stone or rock, a person or even an idea.

Diamond is indeed a gem, and there are other stones that are also gems: ruby, sapphire, emerald, to name a few.
