What is a vampire bat?

A vampire bat is one of three species of South American bat that has special anticoagulants in it's saliva. It uses it's specialized incisors to make a small cut in an animal's skin. The bat's saliva inhibits the blood from clotting making it easier to lap approximately 2 tablespoons for it's meal.
