What is the meaning of Thomas Hardy's Trampwoman's Tragedy?

The meaning of the poem is about many things. The main idea would be regret. The narrator of the poem cannot go back and fix her mistake, which leads to three deaths and she is at the end, utterly alone.

They are not worthy if they believe life has to be so tragic.
