How do you germinate seeds from apples peaches pears or maples?

Most people that have maple trees would be happy to give you seedlings. However if you take the little maple "helicopters" and put them on a paper towel to dry for three days. Then remove the wings and seed cover and let dry for an additional day. Mix the seeds with an equal portion of sand and put in a plastic bag. Refrigerate and plant in the spring in a planter. After they sprout, let them stay in the planter for two years and replant them where you want them.
