How systemic gas exchange happen?

Systemic gas exchange occurs in the tissues of the body where oxygen is delivered from the blood to the cells, while carbon dioxide is taken up from the cells into the blood. This process is facilitated by the differences in partial pressures of these gases; oxygen diffuses from areas of higher concentration in the blood to lower concentration in the tissues, while carbon dioxide moves in the opposite direction.
