When did RNLI start?

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was founded in 1824. It was established in the United Kingdom to provide a voluntary lifeboat service for the rescue of those in danger at sea. The organization has since grown and continues to operate as a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea through lifeboat services and water safety education.
