Why was Catherine of Alexandria made a saint?

She attempted to persuade Emperor Maxentius to change his ways of persecuting Christians. Catherine was sent to prison, and was condemned to death on the breaking wheel when the people who visited her converted. However, when she touched the breaking wheel, it broke so she was beheaded.
