Do hamsters runaway

yeah, their slow, cute and friendly when being watched but once you take your eyes off of it it will start running.... if a hamster does run away it can chew on wires,shoes,tear boxes and other stuff. so if it does run away its better to set a large rat trap than loose valuable property.
