Having sold health insurance, I would never go anywhere but a good independent agent. Contact a couple locally, and then contact a couple in a major metro area. See what kinds of plans are being offered. Be wary of "temporary insurance" and really cheap policies, they might not cover anything. If the person in question has medical problems and is rated up look at "Cover Colorado", a good option for people who have trouble getting insurance. I once had an agent sell me a policy and misrepresent it. It was temporary insurance and I had been told that I might need surgery soon and I asked if it would be covered. The agent said "yes", and it wasn't. Because I had a witness, the agent ended up paying my hospital bills. With this in mind, you might want to take a savvy friend with you when you talk to agents about health insurance.
