How did Spindletop affect the local economy?

In January of 1901 a geyser of oil exploded from a drilling site in Spindletop Hill,Texas spewing up to 150 feet in the air,It caused thousands to go to this town.Spindletop produced over 3.5 million barrels of oil.This cause more jobs and more income.
