72 Cutlass Ignition Key Lock Cylinder removal?

To remove the ignition key lock cylinder from a 1972 Cutlass, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the retaining screws. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "Run" position, which will allow you to access the release pin. Push the release pin while gently pulling the lock cylinder out, and it should slide free from the ignition switch.
