You have Norton running can you use LimeWire without getting any spyware etc?

First off in my opinion you have poor virus protection. It is a resource hog and not one of the best to start with. I will probably get slammed for that statement, but it is my opinion based on computers I have seen get a virus while running Norton. Limewire is a peer to peer sharing program. Anytime you share files, there is always the possibility of getting a Virus, Trojan, Spyware, etc. If you insist, just remember to always save the file to a dedicated downloads folder. Scan that file with Norton before you ever move it to your music files. It is free to home users and is very user friendly and updates every 6 hours. http://www.avast.com/i_kat_207.php?lang=ENG Your money, your choice. there is a version of limewire that is clean go to spybot search and destroy website the list which programs like limewire are best FYI my son put a copy of Limewire on my system a few years ago and I literally could not clean it up and had to wipe and reload the drive, if you remove Norton (and I would) go to add/ delete programs remove what you can and then do a search on "Norton removal tools" I personally use pctools spyware doctor with anti-virus , it catches trojans faster than any virus software I have ever seen , or use it with out anti-virus (spyware is a bigger problem) I like ESET NOD32 small footprint good price also remove norton BEFORE loading the new stuff the other products do not like the norton removal tool
