What shoes did soldiers wear in World War 2?

The men on the war front wore laced up leather boots with a thick sole. Those who served in administration on the home front wore leather oxfords. Each branch of service had different colors of footwear but the styles were basically the same. The women soldiers wore female oxfords and the nurses wore white nurse oxford shoes.
