There are many ways how junk food can affect our system whether that is short/long term. I'll discuss the short term affects first and then the long term consequences!

On a short term viewpoint, you will feel tired or drowsy because of the non-sufficient nutrients. Poor concentration is evident since your blood circulation drops due to the fat accumulation. A lack of oxygen will also be present at this point.

Looking at things long term, someone who constantly eats junk food can block or constrict their arteries forming a plaque. This will cause Myocardial infarction which is the major cause of heart disease. Extra demand is put on the heart in order for it to pump blood on the down stream due to the plaque that formed. Also, there is a lack of blood on the upstream. Another issue is your liver will be affected since since high cholesterol strains the liver.

Well, I hope a few of my answers changed your view point at a different perspective. Listen, we are all human and we'll have junk food but lets try to take it to a minimal. If you do have junk food, just try to make a better choice in your selections. For example, one of my favorite junk foods is chocolate and I'll have 70% or above that is cocoa as a better choice. Another favorite food is Pizza and I'll try to make a healthy home made pizza incorporating some nice veggies, lean meats, etc. There you have it, so if you want to live long just make better decisions in your life so that you can have that junk food once in awhile! Junk food can make us incredably overweight!
