When did Tesla invent remote control?

He patented a model boat which was operated by remote control. But he didn't actually invent it. Radio remote control was going on in India in 1894 by Bose who would use radio waves to ring bells remotely. He'd also detonate explosives that way too. This is a good decade before Tesla's patent after showing off his boat at Madison Square Garden to the press.

He got the credit - but he wasn't the first - or even close to being the first.
