Tell us about a time when you advocate for a patient?

During my time as a nursing student, I encountered a patient who was hesitant to undergo a necessary surgical procedure due to concerns about potential complications. I took the initiative to meet with the patient, listen to their fears, and provided them with evidence-based information about the procedure and its benefits. I also coordinated a discussion with the surgeon to address their questions directly. Ultimately, the patient felt more informed and empowered, leading to a successful decision to proceed with the surgery.
