The oil spill is an ongoing event, and my answers are given to the best of my knowledge as of May 24. I can't give you a simple yes or no. The areas where the oil has come ashore have impacted the environment. There biologists are compiling lists of the wildlife that could be impacted by the oil (but not necessarily will be) and alligators are on the list. Alligators are thought of as living in fresh water, but they can enter brackish water in search of fish. I have included a link to the EPA, which is actively taking and analyzing water samples, however the analyses of these samples lags behind by about a week.
I would advise to keep checking the EPA site to understand the coastal impact of the spill based on water quality measurements. Also, you can do google searches on both alligators, crocodiles and oil spill.
