Can the pregnancy test be positive after taking cytotec?

After a successful abortion the pregnancy test wont show negative until the pregnancy hormones have gone back to normal. That takes awhile. If the abortion did not work it would still show positive. When you see the doctor at the 2 week checkup he can see on the ultrasound if it worked or not.
