How can i convince my parents to get a parakeet when I already have a hamster?

Funny thing is I was in the same situation as you. I currently have two hamsters and a parakeet. What i did was tell them how great pets they are and show them lots of YouTube videos of parakeets talking, doing tricks, etc, so it would inspire them. My dad said it was okay for me as long as i take care of it. But my mom on the other refused and complained on how they'll be messy and too much work and money. I did lots of research in made a little packet. My mom kept saying excuses not to read it so i recited the facts to her when she was watching tv and in the kitchen. My birthday was near so i told my mom i wanted a parakeet and i'd be really psyched if i got one. I guess that worked and i ended up having one :)
