How do animal cells make food?

Animal cells do not make food; instead, they obtain energy by consuming organic materials. They rely on a process called cellular respiration, where glucose and oxygen are converted into energy (ATP), carbon dioxide, and water. This process occurs in the mitochondria of the cells.
