What inspired Enzo Ferrari to make the Ferrari's?

Enzo once raced for Alfa Romeo and enjoyed it so he started his own F1 racing team; Scudara Ferrari and the main reason why Ferrari started making road cars was because he wanted to fund his racing team. What probably inspired him to make buitiful exotics as oppose to everyday cars was that sports cars are more expensive; therefor make more money, after all the whole purpose behind it was to make as much money for the racing team as possible.
