I have a 95 Pontiac grand am and the engine will turn over but wont start it sounds like its out of time but it is mechanically driven?

Please describe "sounds like its out of time" without using the Word "like". Your description is ambiguous. "Out of time" can mean more than one thing and can have several types of "sounds."
