The climate is a little different in Florida than in most other parts of the US. Milder winters mean vegetation wakes up from a dormant or inactive state sooner because temperatures are warmer. When tempertures are warm enough and sunlight is sufficient, seed germination takes place, along with greening of grass and budding of leaves. The southern states typically enjoy milder winters than other parts of the country.
